Immigrant Legal Resource Center and Legal Services for Children, Inc. v. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement
Seeking Transparency Into ICE Treatment of Unaccompanied Children and Their Families.
Filed February 24, 2026, in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California
The Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights and Terris, Pravlik & Millian LLP are serving as co-counsel for Immigrant Legal Resource Center and Legal Services for Children, Inc., two Bay Area organizations, in their effort to force ICE to disclose documents sought in a FOIA request seeking records related to so-called “wellness checks” performed on unaccompanied children previously released to vetted sponsors. There is significant evidence suggesting ICE’s wellness checks, in which the FBI and DEA have also participated, are pretexts for conducting immigration enforcement against unaccompanied children and their family members. ICE simply ignored the FOIA request, and plaintiffs seek a court order requiring full disclosure.
