On May 7th, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced the Administration’s new policy to separate immigrant children from their parents at the border. Under this new policy, the parents are placed in federal criminal custody, and their children sent to immigration facilities around the country. Many of the children, especially the very young, are placed in New York. It’s downright cruel to separate children from their parents. It’s a violation of international law, state law, and the universal principle of family unity.

There is an urgent need for Child Advocates for children taken from their parents and for advocacy to halt the Administration’s new policy of criminally charging parents and taking their children away. Please join us for a gathering to support the Young Center's new project aimed at addressing this critical need, the Protecting Children & Family Rights Project.
