Darrell Silver is the founder of two technology companies: Thinkful, an online school for adults looking for better careers, which was acquired by Chegg in 2019; and Perpetually, an archiving service for the web, which was acquired by Dell in 2012. In addition to serving on the board of the Young Center, Darrell is a board member, advisor and investor at companies working to create one million new middle class jobs. He began his career in finance working as a software engineer after graduating with an Art History bachelor’s degree from Columbia University. He was born and raised in New York City, where he lives with his husband.
