Litigation

We fight to ensure children are always represented and will quickly find home.

Accountability Through Courts

The Litigation Program engages in impact litigation to advance systemic change and policies that promote the safety, wellbeing, and best interests of immigrant children.

From litigating cases and filing amicus briefs, to participating in litigation through declarations or as experts, the Litigation Program works to ensure that the experiences and perspectives of immigrant children are considered by courts in decisions that directly affect them.

The Litigation Program is directly informed by our direct services and stakeholder support work.

“No proceeding is fair when a child is unrepresented.”

Gladis Molina Alt, Young Center Executive Director

Through our litigation and systems change work, we fight to ensure children are treated first and foremost as children. We work to guarantee they can access the border and have a fair shot at requesting asylum or other forms of protective status.
